- It’s a challenge we’ve all been faced with: trying to determine whether we are looking at a picture of a seasonal egg gourd or Speaker of the House John Boehner. Not as easy to decide as you might think, is it? This thing is looking pretty rich and white, so I’m leaning towards Boehner here.
- You know that sinking feeling you get when you can’t tell the difference between Florida Governor Rick Scott and a lovely calabash? I’m definitely feeling that right now. Its so tricky to tell sometimes! One is a Republican up for re-election this year, the other is the main ingredient in several delicious soups! Which could it be?
- Sure, we can hear you screaming out, “Hey look, that’s Mitch McConnell!” But take a closer look, are you sure that is the Republican Senator from Kentucky? Isn’t it just as likely that it is a green ridge gourd? Can’t be 100% certain, but this guy definitely called for Obamacare’s repeal multiple times.
- Wow, who turned on C-SPAN, because it looks like Cory Booker speaking in front of the Senate right now! Oh hold on a minute, that might actually be a goose neck gourd that has definitely never addressed the upper chamber of the U.S. legislature! Well, there’s no real way of knowing for sure.
- You know who this green dipper gourd looks like? Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow that’s who! I know, the resemblance is uncanny! Now that’s all you can see isn’t it! Just like one of those funky optical illusions!
- At first glance, this might look like a ripe mexican vine gourd, but look again and I think you’ll agree that it could also very well be Arizona Governor Jan Brewer! What a funny trick of the light, one minute it’s a gourd capable of carrying drinking water, the next it’s signing one of the strictest immigration laws in the nation!
- Wow! Looking good there Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard! Oh wait, is that you or is it a large striped gourd growing on a vine? It sure is getting tougher and tougher to tell the difference these days! Well, as I always say, when in doubt, better go with the first Mexican-American woman to serve in Congress!
- Wow such teamwork! Looks like House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer and Representative Kristi Noem are reaching across the aisle to get some bipartisan support for a new piece of legislation! Oh hold up just a second, that might just be a spoon gourd laying on top of an orange gourd! Can’t really tell if we’re trying to work through the gridlock in Congress or just decorating for a Fall Festival!
